Itβs School Secretary Appreciation Day, and Strayhorn Elementary wouldnβt know which way was up without our incredible front-office duo! A huge shoutout goes to Mrs. Cindy and Mrs. Teddlie for being the heart and soul of our school. From healing scraped knees and organizing endless paperwork to greeting every student with a smile, they do it all with grace and a lot of patience. They are our master problem solvers, chaos managers, and the friendly faces that welcome our families every single day. We are so lucky to have them keeping our school running like a well-oiled machine.

Today we are celebrating a truly familiar face and a cornerstone of our district, the wonderful Mrs. Cindy Clayton! With an incredible 27 years of dedicated service to our school system, Cindy has been a vital part of our students' lives long before she became the welcoming voice in our front office. Having spent years as a devoted teacher assistant at our sister school in the district before bringing her talents to Strayhorn Elementary, she possesses a unique heart for education and a deep understanding of our community. Her transition from the classroom to the heart of the office has been a gift to us all, and her nearly three decades of commitment speak volumes about her passion for our kids. We are so proud to have her experience, her kindness, and her history as part of the SES family. Thank you, Mrs. Cindy, for 27 years of making our district a better place!

Even as we head into the final stretch of the school year, the learning never stops at Strayhorn Elementary! We are still working hard through these last nine weeks, and our students are finding plenty of hands-on ways to stay engaged. Mrs. Mabryβs 5th grade science class recently put their skills to the test with a fantastic Silly Putty lab, diving into the world of polymers and chemical reactions. It was the perfect blend of serious science and "silly" fun, proving that even as the days get warmer, our Mustangs are staying focused and curious. We are so proud of the effort our students and teachers are putting in to finish this year strong!

Even though this is her first year as an Assistant Principal, Ms. Murphy has jumped in with both feet and is absolutely rocking it. Whether sheβs high-fiving students in the hallway, supporting our teachers, or jumping in to help wherever there's a need, she does it all with her signature smile.
