πŸƒ Adventure Awaits in Kindergarten! πŸƒ
Mrs. Haley’s class traded the classroom for the great outdoors today for an exciting nature walk! Our tiniest explorers put on their "observation hats" to discover the wonders of the world around them.

From spotting tiny insects to collecting interesting leaves and listening to the birds, it was a morning filled with curiosity and fresh air. There is so much to learn when the earth becomes your classroom! Watching these students connect with nature and practice their science skills in the wild was the absolute highlight of our day.

Great job, little trailblazers! Keep exploring and asking big questions. πŸ¦‹πŸŒΌπŸ’

Today we are celebrating the woman who keeps our school healthy, safe, and smilingβ€”the wonderful Nurse Kim Smith! It is School Nurse’s Day, and we couldn't let the moment pass without honoring the incredible care Kim provides to the Strayhorn Elementary family. Whether she’s calming a nervous student, tending to a scraped knee, or managing the daily wellness of our entire campus, Nurse Kim does it all with unmatched compassion and a steady hand. She is our resident expert, a shoulder to lean on, and a true hero in a lab coat who ensures our students are healthy enough to do their very best in the classroom. We are so lucky to have her expertise and her kind heart watching over us every day. From the early morning lesson planning to the late afternoon cheers in the hallway, their dedication to our children’s growth and success is truly inspiring. They pour their hearts into their classrooms, creating safe spaces for our students to learn, fail, and ultimately thrive. Today we are shining a very special spotlight on the leader who keeps Strayhorn Elementary moving upward and onwardβ€”our wonderful principal, Mrs. Ricks! It is School Principal Day, and we want to take a moment to honor the vision, heart, and dedication she pours into our school every single day. Being a principal means wearing many hats, and Mrs. Ricks does it all with grace, from cheering on our students in the hallways to supporting our teachers and staff behind the scenes. While we are going to miss her tremendously next year at SES, we are so excited for her as she transitions into her new role at the Central Office. We find so much comfort in knowing that she will still be nearby, looking out for our kids and supporting our district with the same passion she brought to our halls. Please join us in thanking Mrs. Ricks for her tireless leadership and wishing her the very best on her next big adventure!

Behind every successful school day is a team of dedicated drivers who make sure our students arrive safe, sound, and ready to learn. Today, we want to give a massive shoutout to the Strayhorn Elementary bus drivers! Rain or shine, they are the first friendly faces our students see in the morning and the ones who ensure a safe journey home every afternoon. Navigating the roads while keeping a bus full of energetic kids focused and safe is no small feat, and we are incredibly grateful for the patience and care they show our children every single mile of the way. Our drivers are the true "wheels" that keep our school moving forward, and we couldn't do it without them. Please join us in thanking these everyday heroes for their hard work and commitment to our Strayhorn family!
