On September 9, our Tate County School Board members spent the day visiting each of our campuses!
Principals shared highlights about the amazing things happening in their schools and the ways they are working to grow students. Board members also had the chance to see our students shine through performances and presentations.

Today is National IT Professional Day!

We want to take a moment to recognize our amazing IT team who keep our schools connected, safe, and running smoothly every single day. From troubleshooting classroom tech to safeguarding our networks, their work is absolutely vital to the success of our students and staff.

Today, the Superintendent Student Advisory Council was proudly represented at the Tate County Board of Supervisors meeting at the Tate County Courthouse!

Raylan Smith and Branndie Moore, 6th graders from East Tate Elementary, along with Independence High School senior Daniella Najera, attended the meeting to gain a first-hand look at county government in action.

Special highlights—Branndie Moore opened the meeting in prayer and Daniella sat with the Board of Supervisors throughout the meeting. We are so proud of these students for representing Tate County Schools with excellence! #TogetherAchievingTeamExcellence

It’s a great day to cheer in Tate County! The Independence High School Varsity Cheerleaders do so much more than lead cheers on the sidelines — they are the heartbeat of IHS' school spirit! These young ladies bring energy, positive attitudes, and camaraderie that lift up the entire student body.

Meet Casey, a true team player both in and out of the classroom! She is a dedicated Law & Public Safety student and has proudly served as a volunteer firefighter in her community for the past two years. Casey uses her real-world experience to help her classmates by teaching skills she’s learned on the job and has even been selected as her class’s team leader.
Last year, she represented our CTC at the SkillsUSA State Competition in Jackson, earning 2nd place in the firefighting competition! Casey is a shining example of leadership, service, and excellence—an outstanding representative of what our CTC stands for. #TogetherAchievingTeamExcellence

It’s a great day to go to the library in Tate County! The 4th graders at Coldwater Elementary love their time in the library! From discovering new adventures in books to building a lifelong love of reading, the library is a favorite place for students to learn, explore, and imagine. #TogetherAchievingTeamExcellence

Meet Alexis! Alexis is a kind and dependable leader who helps kindergarteners find their classrooms, encourages teachers, and is always ready to lend a hand. She sets a positive example for her peers and makes ETE a better place every day. Way to go, Alexis! #TogetherAchievingTeamExcellence

It’s a great day to be in Kindergarten in Tate County! Our kindergarten classrooms are full of bright smile and curious minds. From learning letters and numbers to making new friends and discovering the joy of learning, our youngest Mustangs at Strayhorn Elementary are building a strong foundation for success. #TogetherAchievingTeamExcellence

Meet Austin, an outstanding Wildcat both in the classroom and on the field! He currently holds a 4.0 GPA and is an active member of Interact, FFA, and Beta Club. Austin is also a talented athlete who will be a key contributor to our Wildcat Baseball and Powerlifting teams this year. Keep up the great work, Austin! #TogetherAchievingTeamExcellence

It’s a great day to play in the band in Tate County! The Strayhorn High School Band, led by Drum Major Kaitlyn Durham, has been hard at work preparing for Meet the Mustangs tonight!
