All of Tate County is deeply saddened by the loss of Coldwater’s beloved Coach Wert Spiva. His sudden and untimely passing has left us all with a deep void. Whether it was his contagious smile, or his pleasant demeanor, Coach Spiva left a positive impression on every one he met. On Tuesday, June 2, 2015, a candle light memorial will be held in Coach Spiva’s honor at the Coldwater Gym at 7:30 pm. All family, friends, and community members are welcome to come and share the enduring memories left upon us all by Coach.

Thank you for all of the calls and warm thoughts that have been shared in regard to the Tate County School District’s great loss. I know all of you join me as we lift up Coach Spiva’s family and the team at Coldwater in our prayers for peace and comfort in this time of great sorrow. In addition, we continue to pray and lift up others in our area that have also suffered great loss this year.
